Training & Education
An advantage of working with Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services is that we regularly offer continuing education to our entire staff (part-time or full-time) to suit their busy schedules. With up-to-date educational courses on topics such as tracheostomy care, ventilator support and wound vac equipment along with monthly course offerings like CPR certification training (initial and renewal courses), Preferred Home Health Care offers our field staff the ability to grow and sharpen their skills.
With industry trends always changing, our free continuing education courses are continuously being evaluated and new subjects are always added to our selection.
Preferred now offers Certified Homemaker/Home Health Aide (CHHHA) classes at certain Preferred locations! This New Jersey Board of Nursing-approved program allows you to work in a home care setting. The course is 76 hours with lab skills included. Classes are offered in the evening as well as during the day.
We also offer "conversion classes" for NJ CNAs to become CHHHAs. The classes are twelve (12) hours and enables people with active New Jersey CNA certificates to work as CHHHAs in home care.
