Administrative Assistant 

For over 30 years, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services has been providing compassionate and dependable medical and non-medical home health care services throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Through our quality care, we help our clients with the medical, physical, and emotional strain that comes when home health care is needed the most. 

Preferred is currently hiring an administrative assistant for our Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania office. 

Duties of Position 

  1. Greets visitors, fields incoming calls, and performs clerical duties 
  2. Processes payroll, assists with scheduling, and orders office supplies 
  3. Supports the human resources department and the clinical department 

Responsibilities of Position 

  1. Greets visitors in a professional and hospitable manner and provides assistance when needed 
  2. Types memos, correspondence, agendas, and reports as required, and maintains files for the branch 
  3. Conducts medical authorizations and client eligibility verifications 
  4. Receives, sorts, and opens mail 
  5. Assists the departments with various tasks, including, but not limited to: filing, preparing applicant documentation, and distributing employee documentation 
  6. Communicates scheduling changes between office and field staff accurately and in a timely manner 
  7. Supports clinical staff with issues surrounding CubHub EMR software and mobile caregiver app 
  8. Completes other various tasks assigned by the client services manager 

Job Conditions 

  1. Position is guided by goals and deadlines, which require excellent organizational and time management skills 
  2. May require minimal lifting of office records and printouts 


  1. Must have a high school diploma 
  2. One year of office experience preferred 
  3. Experience in health care and medical authorizations preferred 
  4. Demonstrates organizational skills with the ability to multitask 
  5. Possesses secretarial skills and a polite telephone manner 
  6. Customer-service oriented 
  7. Ability to utilize a PC, multi-line telephone, and other office equipment 
  8. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
