Administrative Assistant

For over 30 years, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services has been providing compassionate and dependable medical and non-medical home health care services throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Through our quality care, we help our clients with the medical, physical, and emotional strain that comes when home health care is needed the most.

Preferred is currently hiring an administrative assistant for our Bensalem, Pennsylvania office.

Duties of Position

  1. Greets visitors
  2. Answers the phones
  3. Performs clerical duties
  4. Processes payroll
  5. Assists with scheduling
  6. Assists the human resources department
  7. Assists the clinical department
  8. Orders office supplies

Responsibilities of Position

  1. Greets visitors in a professional and hospitable manner and provides assistance when needed
  2. Types memos, correspondence, agendas, and reports as required
  3. Maintains files for the branch
  4. Receives, sorts, and opens mail
  5. Assists the department with various tasks, including, but not limited to: filing, preparing applicant documentation, and distributing employee documentation
  6. Assists with communicating scheduling changes between office and field staff accurately and on a timely basis
  7. Collects and organizes employee timesheets and processes weekly payroll
  8. Distributes paychecks
  9. Completes other various tasks assigned by the client services manager

Job Conditions

  1. Position is guided by goals and deadlines, which requires excellent organizational and time management skills
  2. May require minimal lifting of office records and printouts

Qualifications

  1. Must have a high school diploma
  2. One year of office experience preferred
  3. Experience in health care preferred
  4. Demonstrates organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  5. Possesses secretarial skills and a polite telephone manner
  6. Customer-service oriented
  7. Ability to utilize a PC, calculator, multi-line telephone, and other office equipment
  8. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
